How do I create an account?

1. 1. Download Split Circle from App Store or Google Play
2. 2. Sign up with phone number (OTP) or Google/Apple Sign-In
3. 3. Complete your profile
4. 4. Start creating circles!

How do I create a circle?

1. 1. Tap the "+" button
2. 2. Enter circle name (e.g., "Roommates", "Trip to Goa")
3. 3. Add description (optional)
4. 4. Invite members via WhatsApp, SMS, or link

How do I add an expense?

1. 1. Open a circle
2. 2. Tap "Add Expense"
3. 3. Enter amount and description
4. 4. Choose split method (Equal, Exact, Percentage, Shares)
5. 5. Upload receipt (optional)

How do I pay someone back?

1. 1. Tap "Settle Up" next to the person
2. 2. Choose UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, etc.)
3. 3. Complete payment in UPI app
4. 4. Payment auto-confirms via SMS

What payment methods are supported?

Split Circle works with ALL UPI apps:

• Google Pay
• PhonePe
• Paytm
• BHIM
• Amazon Pay
• Any UPI-enabled banking app

Does Split Circle process payments?

No. Split Circle doesn't handle money. We only:

• Track expenses and calculate balances
• Generate UPI payment links
• Help mark settlements as complete

All payments go directly through secure UPI apps.

Is it safe?

Yes! Split Circle doesn't handle your money. Payments go through UPI apps regulated by NPCI.

How does auto-confirmation work?

On Android, we can read payment SMS (with permission) and auto-confirm settlements.

If it doesn't work, you can manually confirm payments.

App crashes or freezes

1. 1. Force close and reopen the app
2. 2. Restart your device
3. 3. Update to latest version
4. 4. Clear cache (Settings → Storage → Clear Cache)
5. 5. Contact us if it persists: [email protected]

Not receiving OTP codes

• Check phone has signal
• Verify correct phone number
• Try resending OTP
• Check SMS isn't blocked
• Try Google/Apple Sign-In instead

UPI link doesn't open

• Ensure UPI app is installed
• Update UPI app to latest version
• Try a different UPI app
• Check internet connection

Balances seem incorrect

• Verify all expenses are added correctly
• Ensure settlements are marked as paid
• Check split methods are correct
• Refresh by pulling down
• Contact us with circle details

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use:

• TLS/SSL encryption (data in transit)
• AES-256 encryption (data at rest)
• bcrypt password hashing
• Regular security audits

Can others see my phone number?

No. Your phone number is private. Others only see your name, photo, and UPI ID (if provided).

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete Account

Note: Settle all debts first. Deletion is permanent.

Is Split Circle free?

Yes! Free to use with no ads. Premium features may come later.

Do I need internet?

You can view data offline, but need internet to sync new expenses.

How many circles can I create?

Unlimited circles!

How many members per circle?

Up to 50 members per circle.

Can I export my data?

Yes! Email [email protected] to request a data export.

What languages are supported?

Currently English and Hindi (हिन्दी). More coming soon!
