Export your Splitwise groups as CSV
In Splitwise, open each group you want to migrate, tap the settings icon, and select "Export as spreadsheet". You will receive the file by email.

Open Split Circle and start the import
On the Split Circle home screen, tap Add → Import → From Splitwise. Select one or more CSV files.

Split Circle shows every group, member, and balance it detected. Confirm and everything imports into Split Circle circles with balances intact.

Split Circle reads the CSV file on your phone locally and creates the new circles in your local database. Nothing is sent to a third-party service during import. Your Splitwise account and data remain untouched. Delete Splitwise on your own timeline once you have confirmed the import worked.

How do I export my data from Splitwise?
In the Splitwise mobile app or web app, open the group you want to migrate, tap the settings icon, and select "Export as spreadsheet" or "Export as CSV". You will receive an email with the CSV attachment. Repeat for each group.
Can I import multiple groups at once?
Yes. Split Circle accepts multiple CSV files in one import. Just select all the files at once when prompted. The app deduplicates automatically so members appearing in multiple groups are consolidated.
Will my Splitwise account be deleted?
No. Split Circle only reads your exported CSV. Your Splitwise account and data remain untouched. Delete Splitwise separately when you are confident everything came over correctly.
What about group members who never had a Splitwise account?
They come over as guest members in your Split Circle circle. No account needed for them either. They see the running balance without downloading anything.
Do I lose my Splitwise history if I switch?
No. The imported history stays in Split Circle as read-only ledger entries. You can reference every past expense, who paid, and how it was split.
What if my Splitwise CSV has errors or missing amounts?
Split Circle validates each row on import and flags any it cannot parse. You can review and fix flagged rows before finalizing. If you export directly from Splitwise, formatting is usually clean.
